Cats, Cats, Cats! I told you that Issy is in a new home with 2 felines and 2 humans. Panda also found great digs with 2 little boys to play with and best of all...Big Boy and White Shoes got a home for Christmas. My intuition told me to visit them Thursday, 12/10 and they were delighted to see me, but after a few minutes they moved away and began to ignore me. They were saying "good-bye", and I knew they would be going to a new home within a few days. On Saturday I received a call telling me to go over and say good-bye to the boys! I already had. The next day they and Phoebe, a lovely long-haired black cat, were delivered to their new home in Tacoma, WA. The first few days were a little scary, but finally their new Daddy woke up one morning with both boys sleeping on him. Russ would be ecstatic! He got them both 10 years ago when they were 8 weeks old. His only fear of dying was worrying about what would happen to his cats when he did. So thank you animal lovers. Keep up the good work. There are something like 400,000 animals on Petfinders.com needing new homes. I feel very lucky that ACPA was there for the cats and for me. I will continue to donate proceeds from the book, et al to that fantastic organization. Please check out Petfinders. com - they are everywhere and you can save some little soul and give it a new life. I give a GIANT THANK YOU to Connie Welker and the ACPA volunteers. And thank you PokerMafia-ites, friends of Russ, animal lovers and RGP posters who have contributed to this phenomenal facility. Every little bit helps.

“You put me on to some real helpful stuff, particularly with betting and short-handed play that has made me a rather unpopular fellow with the guys I used to play with! (This is the abbreviated version, I could give you a more jazzed up one with more superlatives that is 100% honest to boot!)” PokerMafia.com Member elFitch

“Russ, your information is worth 10x the price of an annual membership. I bought in for a year and got the money back in tournament wins a few days later.” AND “Another round of thanks goes out to you for the information you have provided has enabled me to bring my game to a higher level. It’s incredible to go onto poker tables with enough skills to control your own fate. Keep up the good work.” AND “Well I have to admit what you have taught and what I have applied is working. I recently won $7,600 after being small-stacked on the final table, 10 players. I can say that the draw outs were flying and helped me at a few key moments. Everything you said is fairly close to right on and your style of play works for me. Look for the proof in an upcoming edition of “Card Player” (issue Aug 29, 2007 pg 122) and online! Thank you again for your knowledge!"

“Just wanted to thank you Russ, for the advice you have provided so far. I’ve made some small but critical adjustments to my game, and it’s really helped keep me ahead of my friends and winning money. You have helped me to size my bets appropriately, and most importantly helped turn me into more of a pot architect. I’m in the mindset now of thinking a few moves ahead, and so I build the pot appropriately. You are 100% right in saying that Pot Limit is the most skillful way to play. I’ve started following through on the river with larger bets if I feel my opponent has been chasing, and I’ve coupled this with larger river bets in general...so it’s no longer a large bet = a bad hand and a small one = good. This has opened up bluffing more to me, because people get tired of looking foolish calling off large bets on the end with bad hands. The speed of my play has increased as well, which is just another bonus. Speed is now just another weapon in my arsenal. I’m playing power poker now; the pot gets big quickly and if you don't have the goods watch out! These are some quotes from the people I play with regularly: "I don't feel comfortable playing heads-up against you." "You cause people to lose a lot of money." "I've never lost so much money so fast." "You make your decisions so fast." "There is no such thing as a friendly game when he sits at the table." (I need to work on this I think, to keep my fishies happier.) Thanks again, Russ. I intend to make use of your personal lessons." PokerMafia.com Member elFitch

“Funny thing, when I came here I read a couple of posts about how some people have made so many final tables after joining PokerMafia.com, and I, for one, couldn't really believe that it's anything but variance. But listening to Russ's advice, tightening up my game dramatically…and being way more patient I just took 2nd in a PLO8 tournament, and had deep cashes in like 6 tournaments (out of about 10). Now I don't just blame that on my superior ability, but tightening up my game really improved my results. Either way, just wanted to say thanks, Russ.” PokerMafia.com Member Knopf
